Sony Ericsson K610 Review (Expert)
Despite the polyphony being 72-tone, the handset does not provide a breakthrough in sounding of mp3 tunes as compared to other Sony Ericsson branded phones. The loudspeaker is average volume-wise and has a great part of basses in its sounding, so the call is easily heard even on the street. The silent alarm is of moderate power or even slightly higher than this, but even this admission isn’t an excuse for cases when it is too weak to be felt. The receiving part is on the same level as that of other products by the company – in other words, it’s very fine. Against the background of other upcoming Sony Ericsson proposals, like Sony Ericsson W710i, Z710i, this handset may get blended with the mass of available phones and become something like a makeshift. Nevertheless, reasoning from amount of posts featuring this model, one might justly state that it would have its own audience and stable sale rates. It won’t become a bestseller for sure, yet it isn’t destined for that, unlike the K600i, the main aim of this device is widening the product range – and that’s where it really does great. The K610i is appealing owing to its capability of working with a number of applications simultaneously; on top of that the music front reports a success, though you will still need to buy good headphones. The rest of the handset’s functionality doesn’t have any obvious pros or cons – it is rather a typical up-to-date offering by Sony Ericsson. One more peculiarity – availability of red trim, which is extremely rare on the market nowadays, despite the fact majority of girls like it.

I think its a great phone, but the buttons can easily get stucked on Sony Ericcson phones. Ill give it a 6 out of 10.
well i think ill give 7 out of 10 maybe becuz i dont like the design and everythings ok but the camera aint so good ...
well.....not so gud!!!! 6\10 K750 is better!!!
i'm an user of k610i. I'm not bothering abt the lack of radio option and light(flash) but the 2Mpx cam qlty is too worst in normal conditions than other SE phones i hav seen (like W700i,K750i etc..).But i vote 10/10 for the external speaker for music coz it's output is amazing than other SE fones including W series. But the Cam qlty that i expected 4rm the SE K610i not that much satisfying.I hav seen many NOKIA fones which got everything poor in their phones and i got shifted to SE for its name for CAM Qulity,Music Quality but this fone satisfied me only in music that too i brought ear plugs seperately. So if you need the cam qlty and music in one, then the best option is K750i, the great fone from SE with all features in it.The Mem Stick(M2) of k610i is so fast which keeps the fone distinct 4rm others and the 3G option is another feature but in India there are no 3G network operaters, and this option comes as waste in India and the CAM Qlty is Poor and the remaining is MUSIC ,for dis u can go for any fone in SE with large memory. I was dissapointed on seeing my fone k610i CAM Qlty ....The hotspots( the RGB representation of black spots that cam cannot resovle) makes the picture look ugly..
QUOTE(reperistol @ Oct 25 2006, 01:22 AM)It is much better than old sonyeric, it has all functions, music player, & camera also not too bad, But i can't install the games and it hasn't java settings, can someone tell me about installation for this K610i. How to install the games, i saved my jar.file into other folders.but can't see install the file. Pls help me! thanks a lot!Try creating a new folder inside "Other" folder, eg I placed all my game files into a folder called "Java Games" and placed this folder as a sub-folder in "Other".
My previous K700i has a problematic joystick but it is solved by my new K610i. So K610i is a dream phone come true. The reasons are:1) Cheapest 3G mobile in my local market.2) Cool flashy red colour.3) 2MP Camera.4) Music Player.5) Light and Compact.6) Keypads are soft even when you just bought it off the shelf and they are large enough for guys' stumpy fingers.7) Can play Java Games. So what more can you ask for? No FM? Get a FM earpiece, i'm sure it's readily available out there in the market. What No flash? Get a real camera if you are really into photography. Cheers to SE!!

I swore never to buy SE phones again because I had the K700i and the joystick kept giving problems. But when I saw that the K610i didn't have the joystick and SE had solved their dodgey chargers found on their older phones, I changed my mind. The K610i is a basic 3G phone. It's a very competent average phone at a reasonable price tag. The 2mp camera is quite bad, in my opinion, because pictures are only about 400kb in size. Other 2mp cameras are putting out 700kb+ pictures.I have no need for a camera (if you need one, get a proper digital camera) . So the above point didn't really bother me. The outstanding points of the K610i are:1) very simple and classy design2) very small, relatively thin, lightweight3) reasonable price tag4) haven't had any lag or hanging issues (except with some java games which is most probably due to the game itself)It would have been nice to have a radio function, but I would rather have this phone than some other bulky, expensive, ugly phones on the market. Also, buttons are a bit small (especially the top few buttons) but not a big issue.Overall: 8/10
This phone is very light, it weights 92 grams only, its handy and easy to keep. You can actually put it inside your smallest pocket. Although it does'nt have radio it does not matter. Who needs it? Most of the features that your looking for a high end phone has this Sony Ericsson K610i and one thing more my cousin owns N70 and when he compared the features of it he decided to shift and buy this brillant mobile phone instead.
I like this phone the only disappointment is the lack of a radio but the memory stick micro makes up for that :D
it is a basic 3G phone, the 2Mp camera only 2.5 X digital zoom and has no auto fucus and photo light. The set come without FM Radio,is not a walkman phone.better get K800i
I like my K610i. It has all the usual SE apps and a more user friendly joy pad. I had the K750i and it kept locking up and would not scroll down. But this is much better. Would recommend it. Just wish had some cool and cute themes for it. Cant find any. If anyone can help, please do. Thanx Hope this helps.
it is realy nice with 2 migapixle camera ...... and memory stick micro is involved .... but I'm going for the p990i that's for sure..
