Siemens S65 Review (Expert)
The first handset to be released by Siemens with Bluetooth Wireless Technology and a better-than-VGA camera, the S65 is a business aimed handset. With its Steel Black physical appearance and themed user interface, the handset certainly gives off the right impression...However with all these features, the handset doesn’t seem, to me, to be a best seller. This is probably due to the late opening into the market with Bluetooth, and not incorporating into every handset the German company release. Manufacturers have been using Bluetooth their handsets since it was first released way back when, Siemens are a bit picky with Bluetooth. The Siemens S65 hopefully a teaser of what’s to come from the German-based manufacturer, possibly bringing up the company’s status on the Australian and worldwide market.
The model is not up to its target group for several reasons. Firstly, the lack of voice dialing on contrast to Siemens S55 makes it a bit useless in a car using the loud speaker. Secondly, it is the first time that the dictaphone doesn't work during a conversation in a business class phone by Siemens and it is a great shortcoming. If you like the design and you are not interested in the fact how qualitative and accurately some functions are implemented, you may choose Siemens S65. Functionally the device is not very powerful for its class... Many small mistakes are typical for Siemens S65 and they cross out all positive features of the phone. This model is for those ones who got accustomed not to using a phone but developing it permanently to a perfection that has no limits as we all know. Ordinary users should look for something more traditional and stable.
I didn't think too much of the design of the S65, but when I got to see it for real…. It's totally gorgeous! Well, I think so anyway! It's just so sleek and classy. You will have problems finding people that doesn't like the look of the S65. I feel the size is perfect and I'm glad it's not too light, the current weight gives it that good quality feeling. After a couple of years with more or less boring designs, Siemens are now back with something to be proud of when showing off to others. I have used the phone for a week and everybody, yes everybody, find the S65 a really amazing phone by looks. But it doesn't stop with the look...If you're upgrading from an S55, you will indeed be amazed by the display quality. Some, including me will say that the S65 has an even better display than the SX1, it's clearer and much brighter. You'll have no major troubles viewing the display in sunlight, and you will not need to use one of you hands to cover the display from sunshine. If you're afraid of scratches, you should be aware. The S65 has such a nice and polished finish that I assume scratches to be quite eye-catching... The camera viewfinder is clear and quick. There are four levels on zoom, both on pictures and videos. Note that you need to zoom before recording videos as you can't zoom when recording. The video recording supports sound and is limited to 30 seconds, a limit that we hope Siemens will increase/remove in later firmware. When taking pictures and recording videos you can select between different colour modes: Normal, Grayscale and Sepia. You can use self timer, select to save on phone or RS-MMC and also adjust the white balance or set it to Automatic...lets stop here and look at these pictures.

A "very masculine" phone.I use this phone 2 yrs until my kinds make a shower with it! Even than works another 2 weeks, after that: total collapse!Better things:- great contacts agenda (a lot of fields; 4 phone numbers per contact; no problem with length of names)- memory of dials/received/lost calls (more than 100)- RS-MMC slot (up to 1GB) I didn't try with large memory card- Big screen with possibilities to enlarge fonts & characters (from phone setup)- most useful app was for me possibilities to find a contact number after one word/sentence (email, company, address, any bit of information - remember is a simple phone not smart one) - Very resistant to shocks Worse things:- Camera is miserable. Quality of picture taken indoor are v.very poor, absolute garbage. Imagine the quality of movies - no comment- Often phone freeze. Off/On the single solution to bring him back to live.- Quality of speaker when the volume are loud is poor.- Battery life < 2 days- Problems to connect with pc trough cable.- Resolution of screen could be better (higher)- Long time to lunch a application (more than 5-10 seconds)Conclusion: When I bought this phone was on top with applications and functions offers. Now buy a modern phone (preferable not Nokia) but this are my opinion!Hope we will find this useful!
