The quality of connection is rather good and no problems appeared. The volume of the 64-tone polyphonic ring tones is the maximum for today and the phone may be heard in various sound conditions. The power of the vibrating alert is average or a bit higher and it may be felt in the majority of cases. The disadvantages are the absence of voice dialing, not working during a conversation, no possibility to assign an mp3 melody to messages, alarm clock or organizer events. The last is even more of a pity, since one of the previous software versions supported these functions. There are not many differences from the D500, the camera is a bit worse, though video is better. The camera can't be called ideal or the best in its class. On the other hand it provides stable quality, the picture is bearable and comparable to other manufacturers (or the picture is even better), in particular, Motorola and Siemens. Comparison with the D500 shows the model looses considerably in the quality of the picture. What is amazing is that the video quality is much better than on the D500. In general the model seems well taken, even the absence of IrDA is not a significant minus. The device has no rivals in functionality; there are no such clamshells on the market. Potentially, the Motorola v635 may compete with the device but is will appear later on the market. With the fast fall of the price for Motorola V3 the models get into the same class. But V3 wins in a metallic body, unusual design, and great fashion constituent. The model looses to the E730 in functions. The conclusion is quite plain, the main competition will take place between these models, but I think soon Samsung will take the advantage. The reasons are an active marketing policy of the E730 sales and a wider set of functions, thus it is more interesting to a user.

hi! i come from indonesia. i'm a Samsung mobile phone user for this past few years. i like its exclusive design. SGH-E730 is a friendly user phone. the black one, i love it... but there's 1 thing i dislike from E-730. yeah, i agreed with mikelah19. got a little stress when i know that E-730 can not install any games... but overall, it is good.

I'll gonna show you a secret. You can convert your mp3 into mp4 using NERO, without loosing any sound quality, and then the files will be half size than before. Try it and then you tell me.Bye.

hello.. i am from the philippines and i have been using Samsung SGH E730 for some three months now. i bought the unit initially because of its1.3MP camera and its accessible audio controls. i am a SonyEricsson fanatic mainly because of their units' symmetrical and functional designs as well as the stabiliity of their fone software. i have converted to Samsung mainly because of their camera capabilities. their output is simply far more superior than others even tho they have higher MP ratings. based on my experience with the E730, i find it easy to use even thinking that its menu based on its behavior was patterned after that of some of SE's later models like the K700i. ease of use is indeed not a problem even tho one is new with Samsung fones. audio quality is acceptable although it improves with the supplied headphones. i noticed tho that there's always this blip sound when the next mp3 song ensues. camera shots are clear especially with ample lighting although it suffers at night with objects that are more or less a meter away. SMS-wise, its okay altho i miss the capitalization of each sentence with SEs and newer Nokias. with this unit, its done manually so to be consistent, i just type my SMS in lowercase onset.in summary, i find the unit just okay. i only wish that its memory is expandable so that more mp3s could be stored in the fone to really serve its purpose of being a music phone.
