Which kind of platform has the D500?
I have my Samsung D500 for six months now! At first it was the best phone for me but now I can't wait to get myself a Nokia! Sorry to all devoted Samsung users but the phone just isn't worth all the credit! I admit it is a good looking phone but the features are terrible! Like the Funbox! How can you call something that, when it causes you only problems! You can't even properly load java apz with Bluetooth without a problem!!! I won't get me a Samsung again!
This is my first blue tooth.. and to be honest I have had little to do with mobiles other than to make calls on themHowever... Whilst I had no intention of using the camara facilities I do use it for caller identity and am deeply impressed at how bright photographs come out when taken at night without a flash. Certainly good enough for my requirements. The MP3 player as discussed is tinny as hell.. but then.. its a phone.. with an MP3 built in. If I wanted a high quality sounds (and something else to carry around) .. I would have bought an MP3 player. To me.. these features are a bonus to the phone.Samsungs customer service sucks though.. as I asked them for advice on how to create own ring tones etc.. and frankly they wouldnt entertain me because I didnt have a Samsung dongle. /sighsActually sorted it out.. and now I use the MP3s to identify individual callers. So it depends what you want out of a phone. If you want rocking sounds.. go buy an I-pod.If you want to take classy pictures. buy a decent digital camera. If you want a phone that can keep you entertained.. then buy this one.. I have spent several very pleasant hours uploading MP3s from my PC and making ring tones for this.. and .. If I have to wait for a train.. I have music to listen to. and all from one very nicely built phone... the sliding mechanism is lovely.. OOoh.. by the way(as a begruntled X orange customer) I also got it through Virgin Mobile.. who's customer service rocks!
Got the D500 about 5 months ago, still a really good phone IMO. i agree with john36 about the mp3 quality, i try and use my headphones or the loudspeaker attachment enhancement to better the quality so to speak. A downside though is that bluetooth drains up the phones RAM and you cant do anything else on the phone whilst you are using bluetooth, unlike my previous 6600 where i could do what i wanted to whilst using bluetooth. I wish you could also zoom in 1.3 megapixel mode. Otherwise i will say i'm quite happy with my phone.
awesome
Got the D500 on a renewed contract and while the phone looked good and slide action is neat idea, the mp3 player is woefully bad. Sound was too tinny and volume was terrible.Sold it on to a mate and went back to my trusty p900…. Looking forward to the k750.Won’ t buy a Samsung again!!
