hey, had this phone for two months and i reckon it owns.great screen resolution and awesome sound field when playing music...bluetooth is really good, on my old phone the other device had to be about 2meters close but this does it properly up to 6 meters, accepts lots of file types and very user friendly...a couple of bad points though:-when you change a theme, you have to reset all ringtones etc-basic design (on the black one)-poor internal memory, can be upgraded with a micro sd card up to 2gbbut yeah, kick arse phone

QUOTE(rabihf @ Sep 2 2007, 09:39 AM)Can anyone help, I can't download any program to my mobile, it keeps telling me that my phone doesn't support sis files.... I'm pretty late in answering this question since it was posted in September last year, but future browsers might want an answer to this question."sis" files only work on phones with the Symbian Series 60 operating system (often abbreviated to "s60") - the Nokia 6234 operates on the series 40 platform.

I've had my 6234 for 12 months. It has some shortcomings in terms of what's available these days, but from the handsets I've played with lately, they have their own shortcomings against the 6234.The negatives are few and minor:- No camera flash- No ability to fast forward or rewind videos- Can't protect folders or messages behind a password- Can't copy a file, only move it- If you choose the maximum ring volume, you have to put up with it working up to the volume rather than launch straight into imax volume- Symbian series 40 is very 'old hat' now. It would be good to be able to access the wealth of really good series 60 apps out there at the moment. Some observations against the shortcomings of other phones, the positives are many:- Thumbnails of pics and vids available in either portrait or landscape view (although you have to connect to your PC if you want to rotate pics to portrait)- Ability to turn off that annoying camera shutter sound (mobiles are not old fashioned mechanical cameras so why make them sound like one!)- Really good sounding built-in stereo speakers with a good volume level- Intuitive funtionality in any 'options' (i.e. don't have to scroll through a heap of options or further sub-options to find what you need). For example, if you want to mark a few individual files and not 'mark all', you don't have to keep selecting 'options' then scrolling to 'mark' repeatedly because the phone knows you're probably going to mark one or two more files, so the centre button becomes an instant 'mark' button to facilitate the process. If someone created a working series 40 or java application to allow videos to be fast forwarded or cropped within the phone, I'd be a very happy man

I have had my Nokia 6234 for twelve months now and I think it is one of the best Nokias for music the sound it produces is fantastic, the only down side for me was when I found these superb themes that need flash 2.0 which the 6234 doesn't support so I bought a 6300 refurb which does.So I switch from one to the other depending on what i am doing bit mad I know but hey that's what mobile phones are all about ! I get an upgrade in October what will I do then lol!!

Well i had the 6234 as a stop gap till i see somthing i like but i must say this phone is not half bad. If you can get around the few niggles like basic design and poor internal memory you could find yourself on a winner. Its got a very solid candybar feel with the loudest set of speakers ive seen on a phone yet. main disadvantage ive found is when you want to change a theme you have to reset all your ringtones and message alerts. Again if this doesnt bother you then a verry good phone. good thing with this phone is it doesnt pretend to be something its not with a few nice suprises along the way
