Overall the Nokia 6103 is little changed from the 6101, offering similar design, imaging, and audio features. While many devices have improved features, the 6103 is a bit disappointing with outdated technology. But being similar is not such as bad thing, especially when the 6101 was a well-built device with solid features. Straying from its predecessor, the 6103 is updated with Bluetooth wireless technology. Combined with its infrared port, the 6103 has an impressive set of connectivity features. But perhaps the greatest strength is its usability. While neither ultra-thin nor extra-small, the 6103 offers a conservative and intuitive design. Features such as dual color screen, FM radio, and J2ME offer a good multimedia package on the road, but lack in comparison to high-end device focusing on camera, music, or video technology. Priced as a mid-level device, the 6103 is built for a different set of consumers who desire a good value rather than all the bells and whistles. For those looking for specialized device, the 6103 is not it. But for consumers who want a well-designed phone at an affordable price, the 6103 is an excellent choice.

I bought my 6103 about 9 months ago because I broke the mini screen on my Sony Ericsson z500a and i figured it would be better to buy a new phone rather than have it sent in to have repaired. I liked the features on the phone when i looked into it.... Bluetooth, radio, decent camera. The only drawback is the reception!!!! I live about 2 miles from a tower and I have full bars before I make a call, but when i dial and someone answers my bars go down to 1 or 2!!! Though that was odd because every other nokia I have ever had was awesome for reception. So I stuck my SIM card back in my Sony Ericsson and that worked perfectly. The other problems are the lack of memory, boasts 4MB but the most free memory I've seen is 1.5 Mb after deleting a bunch of factory files. Also I agree with oddjones, Why do you have to connect a headset in order to turn on the radio or put it on loud speaker?????? On the plus side the Bluetooth is very nice to have. I make my own ringtones and themes and they are sooooooooooooo easy to send to my phone. In closing it's an O.K. phone, but I was expecting a little better from NOKIA.

It started out as greed for a new toy, that developed into lust for a phone more advanced than any I owened before, Which turned to love for a great phone. Now I hate it and I want my money back. After the initial discovery phase, I started to delve into the advanced portion of button pushing. I quickly discovered that t-mobile had crippled my phone by dissallowing third party midlets access to the network, no opera mini, no cool games. The 4mb memory isn't worth much more than 2 themes and a decent ring tone.Themes. Theres another story. It's a pain in the a** to make new themes and you can almost forget about downloading most of what you see. You'll get an error message about memory or corruption. If you aren't very technical with your phone and stick to the basic features, you'll probably love this phone, otherwise, move along.Last gripe: Why do you have to plug in an ear-piece to turn on the radio? the loudspeaker works only AFTER plugging in the headset and bluetooth doesn't count. Grrr. I don't want to carry around two headsets!
