Nokia 5500 Review (Expert)
Nokia 5500 Sport is starting point for whole new line-up, it is interesting too. Integration level for sport mode, phone’s design and erognomics level are amazing, they deserve separate praise. It’s been a while since we had a masterpiece at our hands, well-thought interface and particular functions, their integration, the whole thing is amazing. This phone is very neat looking and after two weeks you feel sympathy towards it. As a bonus for those who already acquired Nokia 3250, we should tell you that Nokia 5500 has identical music part, although it is not positioned as music solution. Same number of settings and other minor things, as well as sound quality. I will highlight the fact that since Nokia 5500 is not a music solution, it’s capabilities are great, and this gives additional advantage. In the end we have a perfect niche solution, it does not have direct competitors, and there’s little chance that any will appear in nearest future. This model is extremely successful and deserves special attention. This is one of the best smartphones in Nokia’s and S60 history. In case the company will be able to provide same level of integration for other niche products, we will see a rise of those, and a horde of clones too, attempts to replicate Nokia’s success. The way in which company is moving becomes clear now, these are first successful products for S60. There’s only one disadvantage for this product – battery life.

the problem with the keypad isn't solve yet.. T_T
an elder brother of the xpress music version phones by nokia ...but not named as xpress music ...was build before they released nokia 5300 xpress music ...very nice features wasted on a sporty design ...but its famous among many ppl ...i think its released for people who do sports everyday ...others wont find the design much surprising or they will probably hate it ...anyway this phone is so powerful in features ...
Good stuff in theory - piece of rubbish in reality!Lots of usable features with the option of stuffing it with even more since it's a 'Smartphone'. There's loads of aftermarket software applications to fit every possible taste & need. Unfortunately were even close to complete the developing process:- My keypad peeled off after 3 months of intermediate use.- The painting of the button in the center of the 'joystick' peeled off after 4 months of intermediate use.- Fully charged battery lasts some 1 - 1, 5 days.- Fonts are irritating small even with perfect eye sight.- The user interface (menus etc.) is irritating slow.- MP3-player is, in my opinion, just about useless since the maximum volume still requires quiet surroundings.I do not recommend anyone to waste money on this prototype!
my only problem about this phone is its keypad, it wears off..
Hate this phone from the beginning to the end. It's one of those phones which has everything but has nothing at the end of the day.--The keypad is small and very unconfortable--The phone has a very small battery life..u will have to recharge it everyday for atleast an hour--the display is very small...u can barely watch movies or videos doesn't play large mpeg4 video files--The camera sucks as the pics are grainy in all weather conditions--The sound quality with the headphones is very poor.--the phones is very heavy when compared to other phones. If the above are reasons which will surpass your excitment ,then go ahead and buy the phone...else stay away from it.
small yet powerful, stores so many files
I would agree with above post but one thing is awful about this phone: its battery life12 hours with half an hour talk and one hour running without listening to music.ANNOYING NOKIA PUT BIGGER BATTERIES IN YOUR F***** MOBILE PHONES!!!
Got this phone a week ago and have no major problems with it, I have large chunky fingers but can work the keys with no problems. To answer a few of the above questions:-Full screen wallpapers - No, but there might be some software you can install on the phone to allow this.Themes - This site has plenty of 5500 themes.
I`ve bought these phone today. Excelent phone, a lo of function, and for mr it`s difficult to use this phone. I don`t understood some things. Does anyone know, how to place a wallpapers on full screen, but not on a small thubnail? Answer somebody.
