Nokia 3250 Review

Nokia 3250Do a triple take with the Nokia 3250 phone. One twist of the wrist and it becomes a music player with memory expandable up to 1 GB for up to 750 songs. Rip tracks from your CDs using Nokia Audio Manager and then transfer them from your PC to your phone. Use the stereo headphones provided or plug your own headphones into the 3.5 mm jack in the headset. Twist again and it's a 2-megapixel camera. Snap in landscape or portrait mode and get up close with the 4x zoom. Store your photos and videos on your phone and then upload them to your mobile blog with Lifeblog. Twist back and it's a smartphone. Take calls on five continents, browse over EDGE, and get creative with all the imaging and music software packed inside. Whichever way you twist it, there's a lot happening inside the Nokia 3250 phone.

The model does not have any problems with network reception quality, the voice of interlocutor is clearly heard, as well as yours. The volume of 64-tone polyphonic ring tone is high in case you use mp3 files. In this case the quality of polyphonic ring tones is not so important. Vibrating alert's power is below average, it cannot be felt all the time. This model is interesting because it's a smartphone, you can add 3 rd party software if you like. Although at the moment Nokia 3250 will be released the software assortment will stay terribly poor. It will take around 6 months for situation to improve. Incompatibility with old software is a great disadvantage of device targeted for the youth. Young ones like playing games, discovering some interesting 3 rd party software. Worsening of the camera and the amount of settings is understood, one have to sell those more expensive devices with more features from the upper class. Unfortunately the music part of the phone was equaled with the camera's level. When you look at the announced codecs and features on paper – you become impressed, but in reality they are realized poorly, and those who will see that will not add Nokia 3250 to their wish lists. This is exceptionally cheap solution, and the company's aim is not to make it extremely popular. There's no difference in player's abilities comparing to other modern Nokia smartphones except for the remote control. It's interesting to find out that Nokia N91's sound quality is much better even if you use exterior headphones. What' s so interesting about it ? The phones are using the same platform. Nokia 3250 is targeted for the youth, who like to flash their phones, but they don't really care about the qualitative comparison of specifications between their phone and other products on the market. The main aim is to impress interlocutor with unimaginable amount of supported codecs, use trendy term "smartphone" and state that this product comes from the leader of the market.

The lack of immediate software compatibility and the lack of high resolution screen have been the two biggest negatives so far, but there are a couple more worth mentioning before you consider dipping into your wallet. Whether it's best to use a joystick or navigator key in a phone is a matter of personal preference, I know, but I just couldn't get on with the 3250's joystick. Lateral movement required careful use of fingernail and the side of a finger and every now and then I'd press too hard and it would be interpreted as a selection keypress and the wrong thing would happen. I could live with it for general application use but it would drive me crazy for playing action games. Given the youth target market for the 3250, I'm amazed Nokia didn't plump for a gaming-optimised navigator key along the same lines as the 6630, 6680 and N70. Finally, there's no 3G support. Despite these reservations and despite the low purchase price, the 3250 is a smartphone of surprising quality. It will sell well, of course, to its young target market, although until enough S60 v3 software comes along to turn it from an ultra-high-spec phone into a true smartphone, its appeal will be slightly limited. Full credit to Nokia though, their new S60 v3 'twister' gave me a number of pleasant surprises, many of which will perhaps be showcased to even greater effect in other upcoming devices such as the E70, E61 and N80.

The embodiment of mediocrity, Nokia's 3250 isn't a particularly bad music phone - it's just not a very good one, either. Mediocre audio quality and music management evoke a feeling of music functionality having been an afterthought, yet the handset surprisingly shines with regard to synchronization. 512 MB of memory is a decent amount at the time of writing, and the stereo FM radio is a nice touch - but nothing to write home about. In fact, the most attractive aspect of the 3250 is its ability to run powerful 3rd party applications and games, as well as its innovative yet bulky design. €350 EUR, available throughout Europe. What's positive: Innovative design; 2 Megapixel camera; EDGE; stereo FM radio. What's negative: Mediocre audio quality and music management; bulky

With the 3250, Nokia has managed to come up with a design that’s both interesting to use as well as innovative. The 3250 was provided with many “firsts”. Its twistable keypad and camera portion was certainly a unique design and idea that gave the handset a greater level of practicality than any other music-orientated smartphone design currently available. In many regards, I have to say that the 3250 managed to keep me satisfied throughout my times spent with it – but not a handset that I was entirely happy with. Its failure to perform where it needed to was the biggest letdown – and it was those rather pathetic in-ear headphones that turned the overall experience all sour. What was Nokia trying to prove when they decided to include a set of in-ear type headphones, which many people would perceive as providing good-quality audio, that actually performed almost identically – or even slightly worse – than their other standard headsets models? There’s simply no reason for them to do so – since the 3250 performs well in the music department… but Nokia just had to get all cheapo when deciding on what level of quality headset they should bundle with their smartphone.

OK, the 3250 is a great phone for the younger generation, its almost perfect, but has some minor s*** that could be totally changed. The good things in the phone are: 1.durability 2.works excellent 3.has alot of memory 4.Great audio 5.s60 v3=can be fitted with the finest software + smartphone 6.Gr8 web browsing7.Gr8 idea with the Twisting keypad/camera8.Gr8 games & themes & music quality & music equalizer.9.BT(bluetooth)10.good quality video player.11.has video & picture modification as stock12.good radio13.has that thing that measures the voice level(thought its ****ing useless)The 3d games(like brothers in arms) work great & without any lags14.the battery lasts as long as hell.15.The themes downloaded from like <url snipped> for excample: are friggin amazing!bad things in the 3250:1.small keyboard2.camera hasn't got the finest quality, thought it is good enough for a cellphone3.Speaker can be blocked too easily4.slow as hell!5.gets scratched too easily. especially the thumbstick 'cause it's spraypainted silver(thought it looks pretty nice when all the color is gone).6.doesn't have an automatic key lock as stock(thought it can be downloaded from the internet 4 free).7.the power of the keyboard might weaken through out the time and use(i've had the bropleemoo that the 123 keys wont work, because they get to room temp. so u gotta put the phone next to a heater to make them work... ****ing nokia)8.the camera might go on if you get the cellphone next to a magnet, or close enough a magnet9.when u get a file modification program in it, it asks if the program can checkout the files for like a million times10.the style of the phone aint quite fancy and it weights a little more than you'd expect(they shoulda shoved a little compressed helium bottle in there... Dumbass nokia!)11.and then there's the gay headphones that come with it, but those can be changed to the fine iPod headphones or some other you might prefer. Just like i did.so, my decision about the cellphone is: best phone i've had so far, nokia could have made it a little waaay better, but i'm pleased with the fact that all you need for the phone can be downloaded from the internet. It's a great worth the price smartphone and it has alot to offer.i'd give it a 8/10 since the phone isn't as bad as you'd think, aand well... i own one, so i gotta love it!

I bought this fona a coupla months back and trust me..it suxs!!Heres why, First of all it weighs a ton and looks like a brick. Second, Photo quality compared 2 other 2 MP cams without flash is not so good.Without proper lighting conditions the pictures apprear grainy. No flash. Video quality is good.3. Its mre expensive than the N70 that has 3G, the N3250 DOES NOT HAVE 3G support.4. Its one of the very few S60v3 (OS9.1) fones with a very low screen resolution (only 176x208). Nearly every other s60v3 fone is 240x320 or more. Hence new OS 9.1 games and apps that work on 240x320 dont run properly on the screen.5. Thought the sides are made of metal the back cover is flimsy6. Armed with an aging processor, the phone struggles to run stabily, resulting in slow access times and frequent restarts.7. Very long boot-up time (nearly 33 sec)8. No automatic keyguard feature9. Silver painting on joystick easily scratched offThats my review...im selling off my n3250 and getting a n5700. Its a revamped version of the 3250 and it rocks!!!

As any other Nokia it takes ages to load up at Start. The Camera could be better too. The battery holds good charge, up to 3 days. Has the best ringtones to add, great themes and the video is o.k.The internet can also be better on it, a bit slow. For a £300 handset I dont think you really get your money's worth myself...

,I will rate is 10/10 coz this is a real value for money, except for the flash part everything is just mindblowing. Look at the style that this smartphone has and you will feeel the difference, At a first glance u may feel it is difficult to handle but believe me i can operate this phone even with one hand.sound is very good as compare to anyother in this range and picture quality in sunshine is absolutely not comparable to any other phone..Its just awesome. The bad part is little bulky and the joystic.
