Motorola RAZR V3i Review (Expert)

1.

In short, the Motorola RAZR V3i is a great device. It offers everything that the original V3i offered, but is more refined and faster. On top of that, upgrades such as a decent 1.2 megapixel camera and speaker independent voice dialing and control make the V3i easy to love from a practical viewpoint as well as for the obvious aesthetic reasons. With virtually nothing but praise for the Motorola RAZR V3i, it is easy to understand why I give it a "Highly Recommended" rating. In short, if you liked the V3, you'll love the V3i.Pros: Thin, attractive, Bluetooth, good specs. Cons: Keypad is not for everybody, no EDGE data

QUOTE(redleader @ Feb 28 2006, 08:31 AM)I hate this phone, and don't understand why it's getting such rave reviews everywhere.Let me explain.1 good point about the phone. It looks good. Well done. Have a medal.Against (the highlights);1. The whole interface is sluggish as hell. No-one seems to mention this, but if, for instance you want to scroll quickly down your address book, the operating system lags seriously behind your keypresses. This is the same across all functions, right across the phone. There's no excuse for this. Nokia have cracked it, why can't Motorola?2. 2 megapixel camera. That's all well and good, but when are phone manufacturers going to put good *quality* cameras in phones? The v3i's in phone camera sucks. Pictures are lifeless, fuzzy and drab. 2 megapixels is an illusion. It's like me selling you a car with a lawnmower engine in it. 'Yeah! I know it's crap - but it's BIG, isn't it!?'.3. Texting. GAH! Predictive texting is virtually unusable. I can't be bothered to go into all the ins and outs, but anyone who has used this annoying feature on the v3i will back me up 100%. They've somehow managed to make it so that you have to press twice the amount of keys to type a word in. Well done! It's all topped off by the startlingly bad bit of interface design which enables you, when replying, to very easily send off a half finished text to someone with a mere slip of the finger. I've done this several times now, much to the hilarity of my friends. 4. Calendar. One of the reasons I bought this phone was to sync with Outlook, so I could look at appointments on the move. The v3i doesn't do overlapping appointments. Simple as that. So - when syncing, I lose a lot of appointments as the v3i selectively removes them, using some secret formula known only to itself. This makes the calendar function on the phone unreliable, and thus unusable. Another winner, then. The upshot? I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone, and I'm flabbergasted by the kind of rubbish that people are prepared to put up with, and - worse still - write good reviews about. After 1 month of usage, I'm cutting my losses, throwing this phone in the bin, and transferring my sim card back into my trusty old Nokia. It was the v3i or my sanity. My sanity won.u r right in many aspects,i am totally in for the bad text input method. but dude its V3i. its a stylish fone 1st everything next .. i used it and i was pretty content.. .

V3i is a great device to use and to flaunt around...I ve it now for around 3 years and it still steals the show when taken out of ma pocket...iTunes ia really great softwares to have in ur phone specially when u have ppl carryin iPods carryin with them around u...just show them the iTunes in ur phone...HE HE HEother than that...camera is great...u can get more if used properly....Ppl say that this is DELICATE/FRAGILE gadget to have....WRONG!!!!!! i ve dropped it from my bed(almost everyday)...hands, stairs, even from my balcony...on rough and messy ground....sometimes even i thought that its not gonna wake up again...but...it came back....just with some scratches......Ok now some cons....Since its not a NOKIA phone, finding accesories is a real pain in the A**....even if u ll get the accesories u just cant be sure to have the same performance like u had with the original one....and the sound level is really low...like playin music with headphone on...u can hear people talkin even when u have the volume at the highest....but by the End Of The Day, its a great phone to have....V3i Rocks !!

If Razr's were so great why did they have to make a Razr 2? My V3 crapped out on me about 20 days shy of the manufactures warrenty expiring. The bad news is they actually fixed it and sent it back to me. I was so hoping they would say it was dead for good so I could get another Sony Ericson...

I like V3. A lot more features although the menus are different and take some time to familiarise with. Don't rely on the manual. It is pretty much worthless as the paper is so thin; it literally falls apart in your hand. Now I want to buy one. But I want to choose V3t Black. I like black more. I recently find a deal of v3t. A Motorola RAZR V3 with Bluetooth Headset is $-50. But I don't know if it is good to buy this one with the service. Hope everyone can give me some advices. Here is the link to the deal I found.http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=56030Thank in advance.
