QUOTE(Poolhut23 @ Jul 6 2005, 09:16 AM)Got my Motorola e815 today from Verizon and I like it alot.  The screen on the outside isn't very high res, but the inside screen is quite nice.  Love the software and how you can order the menus and customize pretty much everything.  The one thing I am disappointed in is the bluetooth capabilities and how they block everything.  I was hoping to be able to transfer pics and sounds and that doesn't look like it will be possible.  However, they also claimed that they disabled DUN (Dial-Up Networking); however, I have already connected to netzero through the bluetooth without a problem.  If anyone finds any cool hacks or something to make more bluetooth functionality work let me know!the bluetooth of my cell is one of the greatest things, it has up to 15 meters range, no kidding... it's amazing... in your case maybe it's the service provider or the factory program settings..

Just a little update. The 2nd phone is giving a bluetooth problem after 3 "repairs" which consist of having the less than capable staff(Verizon) slap a cable in the phone to "re-program" it! One drop on the floor and the phone starts having problems. Get something else!

Overall, the phone sucks. The speaker phone is horrible, and the video and picture taking features always turn off in the middle of using them, or they simply do not save the vids and pics as I take them. The happened with TWO phones! Whats the point of having a fancy phone if it doesn't work?Standard features are fine as to be expected by ANY phone and the bluetooth works well. Since I use the speaker and camera way more than the bluetooth feature I feel it is not a worthwhile investment. I may get a replacement through Verizon and then try to sell it because I have a nice LGVX4500 that works fine and the speakerphone is the best!

I love my E815. Verizon's greed is the problem. To download some of the 260 photos from my E815 (that I took on Curacao during Carnaval), I bought the data cable and Motorola Phone Tools. After installing the software, I still could not download photos. Phone Tools' Help is v. clear on how to download photos using the software, but the menu items for downloading described in Help simply do not appear on my computer. I found the reason (on the manufacturer's Web site): at Verizon's direction, the software manufacturer disabled the photo download feature (for Verizon customers ONLY). So the only way I can download all 260+ photos on my phone is to pay Verizon $.25 each. So I need a hack for the Motorola Phone Tools. Otherwise I will be unable to REALLY use the camera feature on my phone. Thanks, Verizon!
